Brew Builder 2.0 has launched

Some people may have noticed this already, but I wanted to give an offical annoucement for everyone else.

The long anticipated, by me at least, Brew Builder has launched and it incorporates many of the features that you have asked for. The interface is so much better than the old Brew Builder I can not even begin to explain how much it has been upgraded.

Quickly covering some of the high points:

Saving Recipes: Pick you style, volume, efficency and enter your recipe. Click Save Recipe, and you are taken to the advanced options.

-Recipe Name: Enter your recipe's name
Save As: If you are updated an old recipe select the recipe to be overwritten, if it is a new recipe choose new recipe.

-Recipe Notes: Write in anything you would like, but make sure to include the needed things like mash temp/time, boil time. This is also for anything else you want to include, tasting notes, other additions for things we do not carry, fermentation time/temp, etc.

-Share Recipe: Check this box to share the recipe with everyone in the recipe section of the website.

My Accout section: Once you login/register you can go to the My Account section. The member profile area you can add a user name/Brewery Name, Brewery Logo, and other information. You also have your private recipe book where all of your saved recipes are stored.

Recipes: You can go through all of the recipes sorted by style, and pick a recipe. You will see all of the ingredients, stats, and notes about the recipe. All recipes that have been saved can be customized inside the Brew Builder. Click customize w/ Brew Builder and the recipe will open up inside the Brew Builder. You can change anything in the recipe, and save it as your own.

Sorry for the long post.

Thanks,

Ed

I am glad that you like it. I am very proud of it to say the least. I am hoping this will bring an interactive nature to the site by using the reviews of the recipes. Anyone sharing a recipe can get feedback on the recipe by others when someone leaves you a review.

WOW - that's a great web-app! Took me all but three minutes to build my brew!

Thanks man. I wanted it to be very easy to build a brew, and I think we nailed the interface for making brews as easy as possible.

Another feature: If you buy in bulk for some things you do not have a buy an entire recipe. When you click Buy Brew you can remove quantities for the recipe and only buy the portions of the brew that you want. You do not have to remove them from the Brew Builder to buy portions.

When choosing a name for your brew, the Brewery Name you enter always comes first. For instance if your brewery name is Shoultz-Meyer Brewery, and the recipe name is SW Pale Ale it will show as Shoultz-Meyer Brewery SW Pale Ale. If the name of the brew is Shoultz-Meyer Brewery SW Pale Ale, the name will display as Shoultz-Meyer Brewery Shoultz Meyer Brewery SW Pale Ale.

And when checking out, there is now an option for crushed/uncrushed grain and any special instructions! Yippy!
