Quick questions, I just got my chest freezer and I thought this sounded like a good deal so added this and a few other things to my cart (one faucet, tubing, one shank) and it said it was $29.79 to ship 6.1lbs which kills the deal for me. This seems extremely high so I went to UPS and priced from CA to my residents and they said it would be $10.89 to ship. Now I understand there is probably some handling cost, but almost a $20 difference?

I am getting a similar discrepancy. The CHI shipping estimator says 21.58 for Parcel post from their location to 57069. The USPS shipping calculator says 10.05, assuming the CHI from zip is 95619. It does say it is just an "estimate" so it could be corrected later, but I would expect a better estimate than that. I added the temp controller and a perlick faucet to my order to test. Wt = 3.25lbs.

For some unknown reason, the USPS input to the ecommerce site is showing errors.
The Thermostat shipping weight is two pounds.
What did it say for UPS?
If you find anything that seems "out of whack" on pricing, LET US KNOW. We can then pinpoint any item/price/module descrepancies in the website coding.

Thank you,
Matt

anyone with any experience using this product? the dial seems pretty imprecise for wanting my fermentation temps to be 62F and not 64F or whatever. this thing is certainly affordable though!!! I'll probably end up getting one soon.

mine just came in today.

slapped it on the fridge and everything seems to be working as it should.

ill get a better idea of how accurate this thing is after a week or so i figure.

ill keep you all updated on its performance.

FYI: it ended up being 45$ shipped in 3 days (over a sunday weekend). im satisfied with that price assuming this meets my mild expectations.

Well...I finally had a chance to use it yesterday. The unit looks nice but the temperature control knob is so sloppy. Example I have it currrently set at 80* on the unit and both of my digital thermometers (multi meter and external aquarium temp reader both digital) show the temperature inside the thermowell of my sanke and internal freezer temps at 62*. At any given point, once set I can move the temperture selector knob 3/16" of an inch in either direction....basically it is almost impossible to set a temperature without constantly monitoring the temperature and moving the knob a bit and hoping it is right.

Save your money and buy a digital RANCO as I should have.
