Yeah, the whole point of using silicone orings instead of ferrules is that hand tight is all it takes. Removal is pretty easy.

oh haha. I use ferrules for mine... so I guess hand tight works either way
Do you plan on having any shipping specials or anything anytime soon? I might try out one of your dip tubes.

Any chance you'll be able to do a custom size?

Not any time soon. I'm running multiple sheets of 4' x 8' perf through a waterjet cutting machine and it's not cheap. In order to do a custom size, I'd have to take a pre-order and then wait until my next run production run. Many folks would be frustrated with me having to wait around for it.

Have any of the beta testers run a batch on the false bottom yet?

I have it all together (allbeit with a smaller diameter (1/2) dip tube. But I have been busy with work and have not had a chance to brew in it yet. Maybe this weekend. I have been planning on brewing a Belgian Golden Strong with a bunch of saaz leaf hops.

I used the FB in my mash tun with a BH diptube and weldless bulkhead. I made a Rye with an 18 lbs. bill on Monday. I slid a washer on my diptube to sit over the gap, which seemed to block most of the debris during recirculation, besides the normal amount. I would prefer to use a silicone washer or o-ring, just didnt have one around to use.
Wort flow through the grain bed and FB seemed much more efficient and vorlauf was a snap, probably due to covering the full width of my keggle.
Post-mash cleaning revealed a perfect FB. No permanent warping or bending. Anything else Bobby M?

Bobby - Do you have any pictures of the notched dip tube as described on the false bottom page on your site: http://www.brewhardware.com/false-bottoms-filters/152-falsebottom

Many people will like to cut it even shorter to keep the opening from bottoming out on the keg and stopping the flow. However, our recommended solution to preventing bottom-out is to notch the bottom. AFTER you have the height trimmed so that it nearly hits the bottom, remove it and make a cut with a hack saw or tube cutter 1/4" up from the end but only cut 3/4 of the way through the tube. Then turn the blade to the end and remove the 3/4 piece. What you are left with is a "stand" that holds the new open end up 1/4" off the bottom to allow full flow.

Just having problems visualizing this description.
