This false bottom is designed to sit above the spigot of 10 gallon Rubbermaid coolers for easy wort removal. These bottoms are sturdy and will allow you to turn 10 gallon round coolers into a mash-tun, or you can use it as a screen to filter out whole hops. Constructed from type 304 stainless steel.
False bottoms are used to convert coolers or plastic buckets into mash/ lauter tuns. Constructed from 304 stainless steel these false bottom's will not float. Dome height is 1/2" for the 9", 10" ,and 12" diameter false bottoms. Comes with a 3/8" barbed 90° brass elbow hose fitting in the center to draw the wort from beneath the dome.

Someone may know better than me, but the only advantage I can think of over a flat false bottom (with legs of course) would be if the flat false bottom was not a perfect fit it would allow leaks around the edges where a domed one sitting on the bottom would still work as it is intended to.

Just trying to be funny. I will try and get you the answer but we have 3 versions of this item and they all appear to be the same and I am pretty sure none have given us the specs, but I will check when I get back in town.
