Default Young beer question

Just bottled my first beer

Saved a pint as a taster--mainly to make sure I didn't screw it up too bad. Tasted like beer, hooray

Here is the question though, the beer tastes really watered down. Is that what you all mean by a young beer? Only got 42+ beers out of a recipe for 54 so I know it is not diluted.

Don't really care how watered down it tastes, will still drink it with pride

Sorry, I am brewing an AHS American Red Ale mini mash kit. Boiled 2.5 gallons so I added about 3 tap. Followed directions as well as I could and attained a dk red color. Started fermenting after 24 frs--used white labs yeast

1wk prime, 2wk second--no hydrometer--my bad, 1st beer

Let me know if you need any other info

i guess this is just something ive noticed, but before i bottle i save a little for myself as well, and because its not carbed its obviously not going to be true to taste. To me i guess i wouldnt call it a 'watered down' taste, but i can see where you could get that.

i dunno if that helps, but give it time in the bottles and try one after a couple weeks, im sure you will be pleasantly surprised!

I believe the watered down taste is because the beer is not carbed. I am sure it will turn out better then you expect.

Couldn't resist plus what good is a sixer with one beer in it.

Definitely content to let it sit for a while.
Really excited by it up to this point

I've noticed that a few times myself. It's just preception.

Somehow it corrects itself.

if it has not fully carb'd yet for 3 weeks, you're not gonna have the right mouth feel from the bubbles, and it will make it seem under-bodied.

carbonation presents aromas and flavors, so it might taste 'weak' right now.
