Default why are PET bottles cheaper?

PET bottles and BB what is the which one is better and why is there such a price difference. Does anyone on here use the PET bottles? Ive been reading alot about glass carboys and kind of worried ill cut my nerves and tendons off? hahaha... Can i just get the regular 5 gallon water bottles purified water comes in?

They all work, you'll have to make up your own mind as to what you want to use. I should point out that 5 gallons of beer in a 5 gallon carboy, plus krausen, equals a huge mess.

well i would use it only as a secondary to free up my bucket for another batch, i have a glass carboy right now and this is what i am doin but i want to brew alot more so i wanted to see if saving a buck wouldnt hurt me in the long run.
