Default What size holes to drill in Hard Manifold

Cut pieces of 1/2 cooper pipe last night and it all fits well. But I am not certain about best size holes to drill in pipes. Any ideas?

cheers, Mike

I drilled 1/8" holes in my copper manifold. It works well. I believe most stainless false bottoms are 3/32" holes -- a bit smaller.

You can also cut slits a 1/4 to 1/3 way through the pipe with a hack saw or jig saw.

Another option, besides drilling holes, is to cut slits with a hacksaw.

...I guess I type too slow

Default That's alot of dam holes

I do have a drill press at home and a band saw at work. Well I wonder which would be faster / better?

I went the slit route with mine. If you have the right blade, I would think a band saw would make quick work of this. I did it with a hacksaw which wasn't too bad; copper's pretty soft. A band saw would zip right through it.
