Same here.. I used a Carafa II in a black IPA. It was a club brew. Two recipes producing the "same" beer. AG brewers all got the same ingredients and the extract brewers received extract plus the same ingredients as the AG brewers. The catch was.. on brew day there were four mystery ingredients that no one knew about ahead of time. That was fun.
The beer turned out awesome.
I think I remembered researching this before the brew day and as I remember, Weyerman makes a Carafa II as well as a debittered Carafa II. We used the debittered kind.
