I want to thank everyone for all the advice on what to buy. I finally made the plunge and went to the local home brew supply store last night. Here is a list of what I got....

The total was around $250. I think I did pretty good price wise. They offered a kit that most of this stuff came in, however I upgraded it in a few spots. They also included the Complete Joy of Homebrewing Book. Thanks again, I can’t wait to start my new hobby (obsession).

Sounds like you are all set!
That is a lot more equipment than the average person starts with but if you really get into this hobby you'll be Glad you went this route. You won't have to upgrade much and even if you decide to go all grain you won't need a lot more equipment.
Let us know (with pics) how your first brewing session goes.
I think you made out great.. how much did that brewpot set you back. I bet it was at least half of the total amount right?
Look on craigslist! I swear that site is gold. I got a 10 gallon stainless pot last night for 30 dollars! I just missed two free 5 gallon carboys the other day too.
Excellent starter kit! The nice thing doing it this way is that you won't be wasting money 'upgrading' the cheap stuff with better stuff later (e.g., smaller pot, plastic stir spoon, etc.).
But I hope you realize that you are now well down that slippery slope! Soon you will want 4 more carboys, a mash tun and grain bag, a kegging system, etc. etc. etc.

Its for cooling your just boiled wort down to pitching temperature. In my mind an essential piece of equipment if you are doing full boils. If it is an immersion type chiller - the whole thing is dropped into your wort and cool/cold water pumped through it - then 16 ft seems short. they are usually 25-50 of coiled copper tubing and either 3/8 or 1/2in dia. The longer and bigger the diameter the more efficient they will be at cooling your wort. Copper prices are through the roof right now so these are getting expensive, 16ft may be an attempt to get the cost down but at the loss of efficiency.
