Default Too much clove?

Did a Belgian Wit kid from Austin HB and added 4 or 5 cloves to the boil. Three weeks in I'm checking the SG to know if fermentation is over and wow, the cloves are powerful. Will they mellow? I like clove, but damn, this is a clovey stuff.

Thanks,

Cb

Probably, but the problem with that is wits are best consumed relatively young like hefes. By the time the clove has mellowed out, chances are the beer will be past its prime. Your best bet at this point may be blending it with another beer.

You could brew up another batch real quick, sans-clove, and blend the two together. Or you could by some commercial examples, and blend with them. Just mix them right in the glass.
