There seems to be something in my bottles

Hello, I bottled my beer yesterday and there seems to be something in my beer. Is this normal?

What dose this something look like? Floaters or sinkers?

finigan4710 01-29-2013 05:17 AM

It's like what smoke looks like in the air when someone is floating. It's not really ok the top or bottom. Also I added 3/4 cups of run before bottling (2 gallons). It's mr. Beer and I'm upgrading tommorrow so I decided to do a little experiment. Would that affect it?

It could just yeast particulate dropping out of suspension. Give it a few days. As many on this site have said, just give it time; Time heals all, even beer.

Sounds like yeast to me. Chill it in the fridge for a few days and it will settle on the bottom of the bottle.

3/4 cup of rum? In a 2 gallon batch? That seems like enough to kill the yeast to me, but I'm just guessing.

Whoa!! Most beer yeast can take maybe 10-12 per MAX. Youd have to do some math to figure out your new ABV in that batch. Or is there other effects the rum would have Yooper?
