Default substituting yeast strains (sort of) in ale kits?

I will be ordering/brewing Northern Brewer's Honey Brown Ale soon. The recipe kit calls for Wyeast American Ale. I happen to have a fesh smack pack of American Ale II on hand. See any problems at all with this yeast?

I am a new brewer, please go easy if this is a Duh!... type question.

Pez.

P.S. Any comments from people who have brewed this recipe kit????

It will taste different than using the regular American Ale, but I will bet it will still be good, just different. If you have American Ale II already, I say use it. Spend the money you save on something else

Probably a good time to give the "keep a log" reminder. you may want to make it again the same way, or try it with the specified or even a different yeast. Good to have all that stored away somewhere.

Oh..and yeah, it'll be different and just fine.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to go ahead and use the Am Ale II.

Thanks for the reminder about the brew log VTbrewer.
