Default Storing clean water?

So after three batches I'm tired of spending ~$9 for clean water, especially since I'm gonna try to be brewing every 10 days after Jan 1st. I have a britta filter that holds about 3/4 gallon of water. If I fill up an empty plastic store bought gallon of water with iodophor+h20 solution then fill it with the britta water, will it hold for a week or two? I tried this without the iodophor and it smelled like fungus 12 days later.

What do you guys recommend?

Iodophor only lasts for a short time (like < 24 hours) after mixing with water and before losing it's effectiveness. If you wan a sanitizer that lasts for a while after mixing, then switch to Starsan.

What's wrong with your tap water that you need to buy or filter water?

You don't need to "store clean water", and you certainly don't need to add sanitizer to water prior to storing it. Just fill the jugs with your filtered water and screw the caps on.

The water here in Narragansett is awesome, I don't worry about using it for sanitation purposes. However I do use spring water for brewing, just cause I want Spring Water for the brew. Probably don't need to but...
