Well i was working on my second batch which was a Brewers Best extract kit and i was steeping my specialty grains. I had been to happy hour before i started, and ended up steeping at a lower temperature for about 2.5 min before i realized my mistake. I believe i was steeping at 60C and thought it was 160F. I realized i made a mistake and pulled the grain bag out and raised the water to correct temp to continue steeping. How much will this mistake effect my final product.

you can actually start steeping at room temp - color will begin to come out - can't verify flavor, as I haven't tasted the cold water...

When I do an extract batch, I drop the specialty grains bag in before I turn the flame on. Bring it up to about 150, hold it for 20min, then pull out the bag and let it drip.
