I bathe in the foam.
It kills all the scary germs.
I have OCD.

From what I have read, the foam is actually beneficial in that it degrades into a yeast nutrient after time.

Anecdotally (it's a word if I use it), I have racked onto foam every time I have made beer and I haven't had a single issue with any of them. I find it eases my mind a bit to rack into a carboy filled with foam since I know there is nothing else living in it.

I've fermented and kegged on top of starsan for well over 100 gallons of brews since switching from iodifor. NEVER had any off tastes, smells, or any other problems. Do not fear the foam!
