Star San and a sulphur smell

I found one other thread on this from over a year ago. But only one... I am surprised. I just cleaned out a bucket that I had beer fermenting in. I made a star san solution, poured it in, and BAM! -sulpher- I assume it is reacting to something but I dont always get that smell. I hope it was doing its thing and killing some bad stuff, and thats why is smells like that.

Once it dried it didnt smell like sulpher anymore.
 
That happens to me sometimes too. I'll be interested to see what the cause is. I think it might be my water in combination with the Star San. When I use really hot water I get that.
 
It causes some of the SO2 (or whatever it is) in the water to come out of solution...

At least that's what I've read - and I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night...
