So, I already have a ten gallon aluminum pot I have been using. I was so enticed by another free starter kit from Northern Brewer that I bought a small stainless pot so I would have more fermenting buckets to up my output. It is only big enough for partial boils and sparging down the line, but I still figure it will get plenty of use. My question is, aside from the obvious cleaning, is there anything else I should do to prep this new stainless pot before its first use? Also, what products would you all recommend for cleaning of the stainless pot after use? Thank you for the advice.

Just clean it prior to first use. Stainless requires no special care or prep.

I use typical kitchen sponges to clean mine.

You should not have to do anything to it to start.

I have only used a soft 3M style pad to clean my kettle's aluminum and stainless.

Should not really need any sort of chemicals on the kettle anyway since the boil kills most anything that lives!
