Update:

I moved to the secondary. The primary bucket kind of smelled, but the brew smells more like beer now, so I am less worried.

In switching to the secondary (5 days in the primary), I took a hydrometer reading and it still reads 1.019-1.020, which isn't done yet. I'm worried that all my yeast is dead and it's not going to go any lower, and priming it might not do anything.

I'm going to leave it in the secondary for another week since I'm out of town and see what it's like next Friday. Can you pitch again if it doesn't change?

You're fine, man! Relax, everything sounds cool. 1.019-1.020 is a good indication you've had a full fermentation.

Believe it or not, there's still plenty of yeast in your beer and it's doing its job. No need to add any more.

Leaving it until next Friday sounds like a great idea. Leave it alone until then, drink some good micro beer until then, and take a hydro reading on the Friday. If it's at 1.019 or lower, you're good to bottle.

Just for curiosity sake, what would happen if I were to pitch some more yeast?

Would it do anything? Would it hurt?

The first 'original recipe' beer that I made smelled atrocious. It seriously smelled like someone dropped a deuce in my primary. I was more than scared, I was terrified, so I ran to the board to check it out. End result: the beer tastes wonderful, so relax and let it do its thing. Within a month you'll have some sweet hoppy nectar.
