You can avoid sucking up any hop matter by sleeving some panty hose over the tip of your racking cane. Im not a fan of bagged hops in carboys, mainly because it can suck getting the bag back out after swelling. I mostly dry hop in the primary (reduces any risk of oxidation/infection from transfering to a diff vessel) after fermentation is complete. Cold crash at the end and the hops fall out of suspension. You can also dry hop in a corney if you have one, as its alot easier to remove bagged hops
