Will a very lil amount of malt syrup scorching ruin a batch
Very doubtful, unless you are brewing a light american lager... but even then its doubtful. I brew via electric and always have a little scorched wort on my elements and it never impacts flavor.
"Ruin" is subjective. It would take a LOT to ruin one of my batches, but other brewers toss a couple batches a year.
