Sanatize Vanilla Bean question

Going to be adding a vanilla bean and cinnamon stick to my pumpkin ale when fermentation ends. My question is should I soak them in vodka to santize them or is ok to just put them in the bucket when fermentaion ends?
Thanks
Mike

I would definitely sanitize them one way or another. There's no telling what's been on them. You could use some dark rum as well. I bet that would be great with pumpkin. Just be sure to use enough booze to cover everything in whatever container you use.

Mine are sitting in Irish Whisky!

Just use Vodka. It is neutral and will slightly disolve the vanilla. Then pour everything into the container.
