There are things to consider when takeing a 6gal recipe and makeing it 5gal. Overall the beer will be different. You may need a bigger bittering hop addition to balence the extra malt. Your FG could end a bit higher too. Also like you thought, your priming sugar will be too much since it is for a 6gal batch not 5gal. I don't have any links but there are web sites that can do the math for you. Also a brewing program like Beersmith would help too.
