Default Raising fermenting temp with a blanket?

I have seen a few people on you tube do this and i was curious if this worked. I am on the first night of brewing my Amber Ale ( similar to Sam Adams) extract and I noticed my outside bucket thermometer is getting kinda close to 65 i was wondering if i wrapped it up in a soft blanket would it cause any change in temperature?

Because an active fermentation causes heat, it is likely that a blanket could keep the heat in and raise the temperature a few degrees.

Edit: can't really hurt too much.

Yes, it would work, but 65F is fine for most ales.
