QUICK HELP with yeast starter please!
|
|
Ok, I am done (I think) with a yeast starter- directions from John Palmer's book. I have about 1.5 inches of wort/yeast mix in a 1 gallon growler for my starter...problem is that in John's picture it looks like he has a similar sized bottle with liquid 2/3 full. Did I miss something? Please help!

Well, depends on how large of a starter you brewed up... Mine are generally an inch to 1.5" deep in a one gallon carboy, SO, that should work. What is the OG of the beer yuo are brewing

OG for beer is going to be 1.091. I didn't even know that I was supposed to
take a reading for a starter. Too late for anything now. I hope it all works out!

oops! misread the post above. you don't need to take a reading for the starter, although I have on occasion. Don't worry about it, it will be fine.
