Default Pitched yeast at too high temp?

I've just started brewing a lager with saflager S-23 yeast. I've set the fridge to ferment it at 50F (10C) but I realised I pitched the yeast at 90F (32C)! The fridge will take a while to cool it down to 50F so will this spoil my beer and give it too much of an ale flavour?

It will probably be okay, especially since you are putting it in a fridge. You might get a little fussel alcohol taste. Next time try to chill to 70 F before pitching, but you knew that.

By the time the yeast finishes its growth stage & starts fermenting, the batch should be cooled.
