Default Pitched yeast at too high of temp :(

First all grain batch today, I am so beat and tired. A lot more work than extract.

Anyway, I brewed a NB Chinook IPA today. Got it to 90*F and put it in fermenter. I then aerated it and let it sit outside carefully covered for 15minutes. It is 22*F outside. I got it down to 81-82*F and I was in a rush and wife was yelling, I just went ahead and pitched the yeast.

Did I kill my yeast off? I have a cold wet t shirt on it now to get it to 72*F

Shouldn't be a problem. May take a little longer to kick off but you should be ok. I have pitched at 80F-ish numerous times and never had a problem. RDWHAHB!

You'll be fine. While obviously not ideal 82F is not hot enough to kill your yeast just get it cooled to an appropriate fermentation temeperature ASAP and then RDWHAHB.
