Default Party pig

I'm using a party pig, and i couldn't get that pocket thing to pop... and my beer is carbonating in there, will it pop eventually or whats the deal? I tried once, and when i was unscrewing it, it popped and then beer started gushing all over everywhere and i lost that batch of beer :\

I believe it should swell under reduced pressure. I'm guessing though.

How do you know it hasn't popped? It doesn't start swelling until you are drinking the brew. If it really didn't pop, you can hook the pump up after it is carbed. I would pour a few pints when the beer is ready, then if you don't see it swelling, try the pump again. Whatever you do, do not try to open a pressurized pig unless you like beer volcanoes.
