living out in AZ in the desert what are the risks?

The few batches I've done here have been boiled outside and brought inside when cooling the wort and pitching. It would suck if a dust storm decided to sneak up on you if you were still outside when the wort was at a vulnerable temperature.

Heh, yea, I don't think you have much to worry about other than suffering from heat exhaustion (solved by RDWHAHB). Full boils are great compared to partials. Propane is great compared to electric (IMHO). Put the two together, and you can brew outside!

Oh, and later while everyone else in the US is freezing our butts off in parkas and handling the wort with mittens on our frozen decks and patios, you'll be sitting pretty in 65F temps, brewing comfortably all winter long!
