Default o'fest for frist brew

hey guys i'm new to brewing and should be getting kit my friday and brewing saturday but i just found out i screw up all ready....i got the oktober fest from homebrew.com because it was a discount because of the kit but its a LAGER and well i don't know how to do a regular ale. i do have a fridge that my carboy might fit into.
so what should i do
-wait for new kit by middle of next week
-make the o fest anyway and hope for the best
-make some jacked up cider

As I see it, you have two main options.

1. Lagers take longer than ales, so if you're antsy to taste your first brew order the ale and wait a week to brew. It will still be faster overall than waiting for the lager to finish.

2. If you're not the impatient type, then check if the carboy fits in the fridge first.
If it does, do some reading on this site... search for lager... and go for it. If it doesn't fit, see option one.
