Default Nottingham yeast for Barley Wine?

Currently brewing a Nut Brown Ale with Nottingham yeast. Wondered if I could use the yeast cake in the primary for the Barley Wine. But is Nottingham an acceptable yeast for Barley Wine?

I don't have an opinion on reusing the yeast cake, but Nottingham will work nicely for barleywine.

I think it sounds like a good plan. Nottingham is my "go to" yeast and I haven't found a brew I was sorry for using it. It is really fun to put wort on a yeast cake but get ready for some wild fermentation.
