Noob adding hops to wort question

Hi, this is my second batch

My nylon bag broke when I was seeping the grains. I strained it out by attaching the bag to a strainer after it was seeped. The question I have is can I add the hops directly to the wort with out a bag?

Yes,just strain it out going into the fermenter.

Or don't bother straining the hops - many people just leave them in there the whole time through fermentation with no negative impact.

I know you got your answers, but I am just going to reinforce what has been said. Unless using whole leaf hops, just toss them straight in. Only reason for whole-leaf is that you really don;t want them taking up all that space in the carboy. And would look kinda funny after racking. Might smell awesome though.
