Default Need airlock for secondary?

So I'd like to start a batch today but I would need to borrow the airlock from one of my secondaries I just placed (its in a bucket) after 8 days in primary. I looked at the airlock a good few minutes and theres no activity.

Could I just cover the hole of the secondary for a few days until I get a new airlock? Thanks for the help!

sure, just sanitize some alum foil and put it over the top. bacteria cant go upwards, so they wont crawl up the sides of the foil. it'll be fine.

Personally I'd use foil on the primary, and keep the airlock on the secondary.
