Hi , i'm new around . I live overseas and don't have all the start up kit with me . I was wandering how to start malting my own barley . Or correct me if i'm wrong . Should i need first to malt the barley or can i start grinding first without? tks

Recipes 

Barley has to be malted before crushing the grain. Malting requires letting the grain germinate a certain amount in order to get the enzymes in the grain working. Then the grain is kilned to stop the germination. Search the site for malting grain or malting books. It's not a simple process. I would look into getting malt extract delivered.

If you want to malt your own barley here is an explanation in a nutshell. Pretty difficult to do for the home brewer. http://brewery.org/library/Malt.html
You more than likely want to buy malted barley that you could use for the beer making process.
