Default A lot of bubbling right off the bat?

Hey hows it going, first time poster here and im on my 3rd try at this, first 2 came out alright.

But im making a stout this time and the first 72 hours i put it in it was bubbling so much that it was comming out of the the bubble thingy...what could make it bubble so much. I know the fermentation process does that but it seemed a bit obscene.

I dont think its ruined im just curious what would make it do that?

Not ruined, happens all the time. If it is coming out of the bubbly thing, aka airlock, then rig up a blow off hose (google it, but probably a good idea to keep safe search on). Welcome to the boards. Stay a while. Make yourself at home. It's nice here. Like a trust tree with a nest.

A very active fermentation...

Some of them are. Not two fermentations are the same...

Usually it is a combination of a lot of fermentables and a very active yeast strains.

At what temperature did you pitch your yeast? That will often cause a lot of activity in a short time.
