Default To light?

Hello, this past Friday I brewed up a cream ale. I used all DME. 3# extra light DME. 2# Pilsen DME 1# corn sugar and 2.5oz of hops. At the start of the boil we added 3/4 of the extra light DME holding back the other 1/4 for a late addition trying to keep the beer as light as possible. But I didn't think it would be this light. Anybody else have a beer this light?

I'm just hoping is doesn't become clear. :-)

I just plugged the equivalent of your recipe into tastybrew.com 's calculator & it looks pretty light.

What were you aiming for?

A cream ale is a very light colored beer- like a light American lager (like Miller). It seems like you're on target to get a nice light color. Remember that once the beer is clear, and the (white) yeast falls out, it will be a little bit darker in appearance than it is now.

This is only my 5th batch and my 1st using all DME. So I wasn't sure what to expect, just took me by surprise. Thanks for the help!
