Default Lagering with a cold water bath

I'm trying to brew up a lager in these last few weeks of chilly weather. In searching the boards I've found hypothetical talk of lager with a cold water bath, but no posts of anyone actually executing it. Has anyone here ever successfully lagered with a setup as simple as a cooler and frozen water bottles? Is it likely that the desired temp could be maintained in a fairly consistent ambient temp of 60-65?

you can do it that way with a rotation of frozen water bottles however you will most-likely be a little cooler than 60 unless you are already in fairly warm temperatures already. You can also put a T-shirt over your bucket that touches the water and helps create evaporation, it acts like an evaporative cooler and brings your brew down. Depending on your current ambient you might be able to get away with just the water bath for ales and the frozen water bottles for lagering.
