Default Lactose Question: Is there a difference?

I want to make this recipe for a milk stout. I was searching for lactose on the internet and noticed both of these: and Are they the same besides being different measurements? The morebeer one says to use 4-8 oz in a 5g. batch. The recipe calls for a pound which is 16 oz, right? Is there something different in them? Does one possibly have more sugar content in it than the other?

No difference, just a matter of preference and what you are going for. I've seen recipes using anywhere from 4oz to 1.5 lbs in a 5 gallon batch. I would stick with what your recipe calls for and then you'll have a baseline from which you can make some decisions if you brew it again.

Draft 1: Lightly smoked Weizen
Draft 2: Belgian Wit
Draft 3: Rauchbier

Primary 1: German Scwarzbier
Primary 2:

On Deck: Belgian Brown Ale, Pale Ale, Stout
