Default Kept the Yeast

I syphoned off about 4 bottles half full of yeast from the bottle of my primary after moving the beer to the secondary. How long will it last in the frig?

Did you "wash" the yeast, or just save the whole bunch, trub and all?

If you washed it, it'll last a long time. I've used yeast that's been in my fridge for over a year. If you saved all the trub, too, I'd say it might last a bit unless it starts to smell bad.

Here's the yeast washing thread: http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f13/yeast-washing-illustrated-41768/ in case you haven't seen it.

This is what I do, and I've saved generations of yeast. I even had a "yeast fridge" for a while- a dorm fridge with many bottles of saved washed yeast!

Do you think it is too late to take it out and wash it?
Thanks for the link.

If it was kept under a layer of beer, then you have a few days at least. Best to do it as soon as possible though.

well I just washed it, I let you know how it turns out. I will wait untill the brew is bottled and tested to insure I made tastey beer, before mixing up a starter full of this goodness.
