Default Irish Moss no good in Extract Wort??

John Palmer states in how to brew that if you are doing an extract brew you should not use irish moss because it will affect the proteins needed for the yeast to do their thing.

I've used Irish Moss in many an extract batch with no ill effects.

I've used Irish Moss in about half of my beers, some of them extract some AG. I can honestly say that they are all about equally clear.

Following Palmer's advice and not using it would be the safe thing to do and your beer will probably be just as clear as it would have been otherwise.
