Default I need some temp controller help

NORMALLY I am not completely dense. However on occasion I get a little thick headed, this being one of those occasions. Can someone provide a link to EXACTLY what I need to control an AC unit AND a heater all with one gizmo? Something I can just buy, plug a heater into one side... the AC into the other and set the desired temp and forget it.

2 controllers?

During my recent search for a controller, I don't recall finding one that could control both a heating and a cooling device. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, though.

You'd need something with two electric outlets, one for the heating side and one for the cooling side.

I've heard of people using two controllers. When the cooling one is off because the temp is too cold, the heating one is on to bring the temp back up. And vice versa.

The controllers I've seen can be programmed to cool or heat, but they only control one electrical outlet.

The ebay aquarium controller sounds like exactly what you want... but you will have to wire it up yourself

I did it. It was easy. I survived.

But I'm having an electrician friend come over and look it over before I use it.

Well, he's actually going to help rewire my old fridge.

Sure! If you can re-wire a plug you can wire up the temp controller. If you can't re-wire a plug then it makes good practice! I got lost trying to find something that would do it out the box and eventually went the self built route and it works realy well. The hardest part is cutting the holes in the box!

This is what you want.

http://www.etcsupply.com/ranco-etc21...ler-p-110.html

Pre-wired and ready to plug in. Both heat and cooling. Just set your temps. I have the single stage that does both hot and cold but you have to select one or the other.

What you want in this instance is a Ranco Dual Stage temp controller that is pre-wired.
