Default Hydrometer reading post bottling

I took a reading AFTER putting in 5oz of corn sugar - how much will this effect the final reading ????

I don't think it will effect it at all. At least not within the accuracy limits of a floating hydrometer.

Agreed; if the amount of priming sugar isn't enough to change ABV in any appreciable way, you can be certain the same holds true for a hydrometer.

Thanks - that is what I thought but I had never heard anyone speak of it.

side note - Amarillo SMaSH was pretty darn nice at bottling.

Maris Otter and 3oz of Amarillo.

5 oz. @ 40 points per pound => 12.5 points divided by 5 gallons = +0.002
