Default hydrometer reading debris???

hey guys i just took my first hydro reading on my beer. Its been sitting for 2 weeks so i wanted to see how it was doing. it started at 1.040 after boil and now is at a 1.013. i wanted to know if this seemed right and also if there was supposed to be debris in the beer. there were a lot of things floating in the beer?

Yes,
1.013 is in the ball park for a fermented beer. Don't worry about the floating stuff - just try not to get too much of it when you siphon for bottling.

Cheers,
Brad
