Default How long does grain stay fresh?

Quick question - I purchased a mini-Mash Red Stripe clone from Austin Home Brew. I thought I would have the time to brew it right away, but things came up. The grains are still in a air tight bag and the I've kept the liquid yeast in the fridge. Am I good to go??? Just wasn't sure what the shelf live is on the grain....I know the yeast is fine. Thoughts?

How long has it been?

Secondly are the grains cracked already?

It will be fine. I'd only be worried if the ingredients had been sitting in the sun and/or got real warm.

There have been times in the past where I've had grains milled and didn't use them for upto two months later without any issues. Past that though I can't really comment.

I bought 2 kits from NB once and one of them sat in the fridge for a few months while I drank the first one. I could swear there was a somewhat stale taste in that second kit from sitting.
