Default Houston, we have lift-off!

Wow....made a starter for my weizen that i made and i can actually see a whirlpool in the carboy, its going off like crazy right now. Saw fermentation after 2 hours. Ive never had it that fast.

starters are good for many things, but one of the best is you dont have to wait as long to see fermentation and then you can relax

I understand. On my most recent batch, I made a starter (not my first) but I used it on my first big beer (OG 1.75) and fermentation kicked off within 8 hours (probably sooner, but I was asleep). I was SO excited to see my bucket look like it was about to burst and krausen spewing out of every hole and crevice. I know it made a mess, but it was an impressive show no less.
