I use the Hallertauer hops as well 1/2 bittering 1/2 aromatic, coming out of the primary it had a nice flavor to it. I could see where the 3/4 1/4 configuration might do a Hefe more justice though. I used pellet form, and strained, going into my primary.
Primary #1: Pilsener
Secondary #1: Kona Stout (8 oz. of Kona added to secondary for cold extraction...it is actually good so far)
Secondary #2: Hefe
Drinking: Microbrews, Amber Ale.
