However.. The recipe instructions shows using a bag of US Golden Wheat grains. Do I have to use the grains or can I just skip?

Looks like they removed the lb of grain from the recipe. You don't need it (wouldn't get much from just steeping wheat malt like that anyway). Just start from step # 6.
