dunno...not something I would try, but it just goes to show that airlock bubbling is less important to the scheme of things then most new brewers think.

I do it regularly - and the only infections I've developed were intentional.

On the non infected ones, how do you actually attach the tinfoil?

Just crimped down loosely over the mouth of the carboy. For buckets, I use a sheet of Plexi.
