Default Getting ready for my fourth batch. Should I use a kit.

So far I have made 2 beers and Ed Wort's Apfelwein is in a primary. As of Sunday I will have 2 empty Primaries. My wheat ale will be on week 2 in the bottles and the Irish red is getting bottled on Sunday.

So after listening to Basic Brewing Radio today I'm enamored with the idea of making a Saison. I did not use a kit for my first batches would you suggest I use one for this style.

FYI this will be an partial boil extract.

I would say that thats a question only you could answer. Do you feel comfortable with mixing your own ingredients?

I've done my previous batches from Recipes that I found and some minor tweaks in Beertools pro. I just wasn't sure if I kit had the advantage when dealing with an unfamiliar style or if the kits tended to be more cost effective for trying new styles.

taking a recipe, and walking into your LHBS and giving them the list, gives you the same thing as if you used a kit. After I did a couple kits, I took a published recipe, and used it as a shopping list. After a couple of those, I started modifying the recipe to my taste.
