Default First All Grain Help

I found a recipe for a pumpkin beer that uses these grains:

  • 10 lbs pale 2 row malt
  • 1 lbs Special Roast
  • 1 lbs Crystal 60

Am I right in assuming that I can brew this just like I have done with my partial extracts (steep the grains then add DME or LME and boil) and just steep the grains? Or do I need to do a mash of some sort? Or is there an extract substitution I can make?

You mash all of the grains together. Make sure they are cracked/crushed.

If you're using LME or DME, you can steep the special roast and the crystal 60 and then use 6 pounds of DME for the pale 2-row.
