Default Fermentation in closet?

I added the yeast and it should ferment soon. I put it in my closet. Does it put off a lot of smell? If it does I'm sure my wife will have me move it soon.

Maybe you could let your wife out of the closet and she'll not complain about sharing the space?
the smell is minimal - watch it in primary as it can be messy if it blows!

Depends heavily on the yeast you used. I don't think it will be an issue, though.

I would recommend putting the fermenter in a large trash bag.

Then again a little wort on the ceiling hasn't killed anyone yet. Eventually the stains go away... I mean it might take like 5 coats but thats why they take money for a security deposit anyway
